December 3, 2012 marked the date of the first
ever Southville Global Education Network Musical Play. All SGEN schools featured student talent in
singing, dancing, and acting while endowing with an entertaining and
educational competitive experience.
Whether fantasy or realistic fiction, each
school presented different stories which are based on the 3Rs: respect,
responsibility, and relationship.
It must have been the same in all schools
though I witnessed how preparations had been made in only one. It all started with script-writing,
auditioning, and practicing. Finally,
when presentation day came, everybody scrambled about the backstage; all were excited
and eager to perform. Even so, every
member of the audience applauded joyfully at all the performances.
In the end, winners of the contest were
announced. All four schools were ranked
according to their presentations. Also,
individual performances were recognized, and a fourth-grader hailed to have shown
the best performance of all.
As cliché as it may sound, life’s a stage. Every one of us has a role to play. Parts may be small or big. It may be in front of an audience or at the
backstage. It may be the voice singing
or reciting, or the person who wrote the lines they deliver. Whatever role each one of us has to play, we
see to it that it’s all to live our lives to the fullest.

can show the best performance of your life?
